Delivered in partnership with Two Two One Mental Health Charity, this course introduces the core principles of trauma-informed practice and shows how to apply them in housing and community contexts.

Trauma-informed care is about understanding how trauma can affect people’s lives, behaviours, and relationships.

Course Objectives

In this course, you will learn how to:

  • Explain what trauma is, its causes, and how it can affect people differently.
  • Apply the key principles of trauma-informed practice.
  • Use trauma-sensitive communication strategies in everyday interactions.
  • Set healthy professional boundaries and practise self-care.
  • Identify ways to integrate trauma-informed practice into organisational policies and procedures.
