Managing a tenancy in Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is very different from managing general needs housing.
This course explores what tenancy management in SDA looks like in practice. From establishing a residency agreement, through to managing repairs, complaints, vacancies and working alongside SIL providers.
By the end of this course you’ll understand your role in delivering safe, compliant and person-centred SDA housing.
Course Objectives
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Explain what SDA is, who it’s for, and the types of accommodation available
- Understand eligibility criteria and how SDA differs from general tenancy management
- Navigate the requirements of SDA residency agreements (beginning, during and ending)
- Meet SDA reporting and data obligations
- Respond appropriately to complaints within SDA settings
- Work respectfully and effectively with people living with disability
