🎤 Quick-Fire Fun First!

1. Coffee order we’d catch you with on a Monday morning?

If I’m feeling social, it’s an oat milk cappuccino, otherwise, it’s a long black all the way!

2. What’s your ultimate karaoke song (and do you actually sing it)?

I have tinnitus, so I would never put people through that! But when it’s just me and my fiancé in the car, it’s always “Wish I Was a Punk Rocker” by Sandi Thom.

3. Describe your job to your younger self in 5 words.

Exactly what you dreamed of.

🌱 Let’s Get Deeper…

4. You’re clearly passionate about learning and development — where did that passion begin? Was there a moment or experience that sparked it?

When I was studying to become a Life Coach, my college suggested we run a public workshop as part of our facilitator skills module. I was only 20 and had never even attended a public workshop before, but I threw something together on Self Leadership and somehow sold 12 tickets. The moment I stood in front of that group, I knew – this was it.

5. Founding The Learning and Development Collective is no small feat! What inspired you to create a global community like this?

During Covid, many of my leadership development clients were looking for a way to connect with peers in L&D. Instead of being the go-between, I thought, why not bring everyone together? That first Zoom session had 12 people. Today, we’re a global network with over 850 members, monthly events, and even an annual L&D Festival in the Metaverse.

6. You’ve been recognised by LinkedIn as a Top Voice in Mentoring (amazing!) — what does that kind of recognition mean to you personally?

Humbling! For me, mentoring is about lifting others up and helping them see what’s possible for themselves. Being recognised by LinkedIn means that the work I’m so passionate about is resonating with others, and that’s both an honour and a huge motivator to keep giving back to the community.

7. What’s a myth about leadership or professional development you’d love to bust for good?

That you only invest in your development when something’s wrong. Just like seeing a therapist isn’t just for when you’re struggling, leadership development is about proactively strengthening your skills and wellbeing.

✨ And Finally…

8. Complete the sentence: “The future of learning and development is…”
